Tribes of Israel
Many Christian churches don’t feel much of a connection with the history of the Jews, other than that there were prophecies concerning Jesus as the Messiah. However, Mormon Doctrine realizes there are still many pertinent things from Judaism which still apply in the fullness of the gospel. The instance of the tribes of Israel is a good example of this. The original twelve tribes were broken into two groups of two and ten thousands of years ago. The ten are now said to be lost, but many prophecies declare they tribes will all have to be gathered. Mormon Doctrine teaches that this gathering is now beginning to taking place in the Mormon Church.
