Hamstring Stretch for the Over 50s
Here is a hamstring stretching exercise for over 50 men and women. Lie flat on your back on the floor. Bend the right knee and rest the right foot flat on the floor. Now slowly lift the left leg up towards the sky without bending the knee. Let not your hips lose contact with the floor. Initially you will be able to pull your leg only 90 degrees to the floor, but as you gain in flexibility you can further pull your leg towards your chest. You can even use your hands to pull your leg towards the chest. Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and repeat 4 times. Do the same with the right leg.
