What Causes Head Lice?
Head lice can affect anyone. But they are common in children aged 4 to 11 years old. The cause of head lice is an infestation with a parasitic insect called as Pediculus Humanus Capitis. The transmission is through direct contact with the infected person. Perhaps, this is more common in children since they have direct contact with their classmates who have head lice at school.
Once they become infected, all the members of the family can also be infected. That’s why it is important to immediately treat the head lice of anyone who is infected. There should not be any direct contact. All things in the house should be well-cleaned. This is to ensure the lice and nits are totally removed.
